In March 2024, Raglan Area School made a significant investment in its future with the installation of a custom COLA Canopy® from Shade Systems. Located on the beautiful Raglan coast, the school now enjoys an impressive, blue-framed canopy covering their outdoor courts, allowing students to play and learn outdoors year-round. More than just a shelter, the canopy reflects the school’s values of Poutama (striving for excellence) and Manaakitanga (caring for others).

With this new structure, Raglan Area School has created a space that promotes physical activity and community connection, no matter the weather. From sports practices to social gatherings, students have a safe, inclusive environment where they can thrive—perfectly in line with the school’s commitment to Whanaungatanga (family-like care) and Kaitiakitanga (caring for the environment). The addition of post pads further reinforces their focus on student well-being, ensuring safety during play.
